It is moderately challenging with gradual slopes, though summit night requires strong physical and mental stamina. Do I need prior technical mountaineering experience for this trek? No technical gear or climbing skill is required, but good physical fitness and endurance are essential. What kind of sleeping arrangements are used on Rongai? Trekkers stay in sturdy four-season mountain tents set up by porters, with dormitory huts used at Horombo. How is drinking water provided during the trek? Mountain stream water is gathered daily by crew, boiled, treated, and provided warm for refilling hydration packs. What clothing and equipment are required for the summit? Layered thermal clothing, windproof shell jackets, insulated gloves, thermal hats, headlamps, and broken-in trekking boots are mandatory. How do mountain guides monitor altitude sickness and safety? Guides perform daily pulse-oximeter health checks, monitor symptoms, enforce slow pacing, and carry emergency oxygen supplies. Where do I leave extra travel luggage during the mountain climb? Excess travel baggage and non-mountain gear can be stored securely at your Moshi hotel free of charge. What is the best time of year to climb Mount Kilimanjaro on Rongai?
